With every new year I like to try something new. The year 2007 was my year to NOT leave a store with a plastic bags, leaving me juggling my groceries if I forgot our reusable bags, which quickly taught me to remember them. The year 2008 I tried to purchase more thoughtful gifts, or homemade items (all the little kids on our holiday list received educational books!).
So, for 2009 I've decided to make this the year that the only gifts I give will be either "donation or experience"!
If you're still not sure what that means, here are some examples of what I'll be doing:
Dad's birthday gift could be a "donation", say I donate to his favourite charity or have some trees planted in his honour.
OR
Dad's birthday gift could be an "experience", I could take Dad out to dinner, or send him sky diving.
It's making it very interesting and makes me think a lot more about the person that I'm giving to. My first challenge is my Cousin Marr's baby shower this coming Sunday. Any ideas??
cheers,
jann.
PS.. don't worry I'll still show you my favourite finds on Etsy and am still buying off Etsy for our home. ;)

7 and 8

I’m seriously lovin’ these earrings. Not only are they a super purple, but they have numbers on them. 7 on one, 8 on the other. I wonder if Jeff was thinking of me when he made these ones, as you see I was born in ‘78 (yep, turning the big 3-0 this year!). I also love how these earrings can mean so many different things to different people, maybe it’s not the year ‘78 to you, maybe it’s ‘87, maybe not the year you were born but the year you gave birth? Maybe that’s not even it. Maybe you are 87 years old and want to rock out some 2ReVert earrings down to the local club. Maybe it’s 8+7 (which is 15 by the way). Maybe your dog just turned 15, maybe your fish had 15 babies (or maybe you did). Any way you turn it, they are numbers which I love. Whatever an 8 and a 7 can mean to you.
jann.
PS... stay tunned for our first ever 2ReVert prize pack giveaway! :)

Last day!!!
Hey, it's Jeff, 6am and can't sleep. Know why? 'Cause it's my last day at my 14 year job! I actually get to quit my day job and couldn't be happier or more scared. Anyhoo, we are finally moved into our new country home and i'm really looking forward to getting into my new shop ( I upgraded from tiny to just small) and look forward to whatever comes next. Cheers, Jeff
